Position 1: Based in BrisbanePosition 2: Based on the Gold Coast
Position Overview:Standen Marine is a highly respected and successful multi-location recreational boat brokerage operating on the east coast of Australia. As a Sales Broker in Queensland, your role will include building out a portfolio of boating clients as you assist them with both buying and selling.
If you have a strong track record in sales of motor yachts, sailing yachts, real estate or luxury goods and you are passionate about boating in any form, then this role will suit you. Experience in the marine industry would be highly regarded but isn’t a necessity.
Ongoing training and professional development will be provided to support your long-term growth with Standen.
Key responsibilities:• Proactively identify & secure vessel listing opportunities for second-hand vessels • Seek, recognise, and secure opportunities for sales of new vessels • Achieve your sales targets• Deliver professional customer service exceeding client expectations• Build a portfolio of repeat clients• Conduct vessel presentations to prospective customers• Attend industry trade shows, dealer training and client events• Monitor and report on market and competitor activities• Successfully negotiate the best possible settlement on all sales• Provide timely sales status updates to management• Attend meetings, teleconference calls and training sessions as required• Work on weekends as required
An ideal candidate must have:• Experience living and working in the S.E. Queensland area• Excellent / native English language skills with high spoken and written fluency• A proven track record of sales success• A passion for boating and a minimum of some boating knowledge• The business development skills needed to identify and close new prospects• Highly developed customer service, interpersonal and communication skills• The ability to work collaboratively and productively within a small team• Strong and effective sales negotiation skills to support our Vendor’s interests• The personality to cultivate a referral network to build a sales pipeline• The confidence needed to reach out to new and existing customers regularly• A self-motivated approach and a desire to succeed• A desire to hold themselves to high moral and ethical business standards• The experience and skills to employ modern office administration tools efficiently• A current recreational boat licence (or commercial qualifications)• A current motor vehicle drivers’ licence and a motor vehicle.
