Position Overview :
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with our project teams to evaluate project specifications and provide precise cost analysis for HDPE pipelines, mechanical & piping installations, and concrete pipelaying, particularly within the civil sector. Your role will be crucial in helping us secure new projects and ensuring our current projects meet cost and time expectations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates for HDPE pipelines, structural mechanical & piping installations, and concrete pipelaying projects in the civil sector.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain cost data and ensure the best possible pricing.
- Analyze and assess project risks and suggest cost-effective solutions while maintaining project quality.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive bid packages, ensuring compliance with all client and project requirements.
- Work closely with project managers to review project progress and adjust estimates as needed.
- Provide input on value engineering and alternative materials to optimize project costs.
- Lead and mentor junior estimators, ensuring they follow company estimating practices and techniques.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.
- Manage and track all estimating documentation, ensuring proper record-keeping and organization.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least [X] years of experience in estimating HDPE pipelines, structural mechanical & piping installation, and concrete pipelaying within the civil construction sector.
- In-depth knowledge of HDPE pipeline installation, mechanical systems, piping, and concrete pipelaying processes.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures specific to civil and pipeline projects.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and a strong ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with leadership capabilities.
