The Role
This role is pivotal in supporting day-to-day feedlot operations, supervising team members, and ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of livestock. You will work closely with the Livestock Supervisor and management team to implement best practices in animal welfare, health, and operational efficiency. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a productive and safe work environment while ensuring high standards of cattle care and facility maintenance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Assist in leading and mentoring the feedlot team to achieve operational targets.Oversee livestock handling, processing, and movement within the feedlot.Ensure adherence to animal welfare, health, and safety standards.Support feeding operations and ensure cattle receive optimal nutrition.Monitor and report on cattle health, administering treatments as required.Operate and maintain machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.Work closely with management to improve processes and team performance.
Who We Are Looking For
You have experience in a feedlot or intensive cattle handling operation.You have excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.You have a sound understanding of animal welfare, cattle health, and feeding programs.You have competence in operating and maintaining machinery and handling equipment.A proactive and safety-focused approach to work.
