The Role
The Livestock Supervisor will oversee daily livestock operations at Stanbroke’s feedlot. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and humane handling of cattle while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, health management, and compliance with industry regulations.
You will lead a team responsible for cattle receival, pen movements, drafting, and dispatch while closely monitoring animal health and wellbeing. The role requires coordination with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other departments to ensure optimal cattle performance and compliance with feeding and treatment protocols.
Your Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support the livestock team to ensure the efficient handling, movement, and care of cattle.Monitor animal health and administer treatments in line with veterinary and company protocols.Ensure adherence to animal welfare standards and company policies.Assist with drafting, processing, and inducting cattle into the feedlot.Maintain accurate livestock records and assist with data collection.Work closely with other departments to coordinate cattle logistics and feeding programs.Provide training and mentoring to team members.Operate machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
Who We Are Looking For
You have experience in livestock handling, ideally in a feedlot or intensive cattle operation.You have strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.You have a solid understanding of animal welfare practices and cattle health management.You can work efficiently in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.You have competence in operating livestock handling equipment and general machinery.You are committed to workplace health and safety.A current driver’s license (essential).
