You will work with a multidisciplinary team of medical and allied health professionals on site to contribute to positive mental health outcomes for the Australian Defence Force personnel at our NQLD HQ in Townsville. This role is full time fixed term for 12 months, with shifts Monday to Friday weekly within the opening hours of 7:30am - 4pm.
As a Mental Health Registered Nurse, you’ll make a positive impact by:
• Performing intake assessments and risk assessments
• Providing crisis intervention
• Planning case formulation and treatment planning
• Planning care coordination
• Performing mental health screenings
About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

Shifts are lifestyle friendly in this Mental Health Registered Nurse role, being Monday to Friday day shifts - no nights or weekends.
To be successful in this role you’ll have the following:
• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN); OR minimum qualification of Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing; OR Mental Health trained nurse / United Kingdom trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
• Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) Post Registered Nurse general registration experience within the previous 5 years in mental health in a primary health setting or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence based 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' as defined under the Medicare Schedule
Please note:
· You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
· You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
