Job Opportunity: Co-Director Anaesthetics Department & Consultant Anaesthetist
Location: Regional Victoria (3h from Melbourne)


We are seeking an experienced Medical Professional for the role of Co-Director at Anaesthetics Department in a regional healthcare facility located in regional Victoria. This is an excellent opportunity to combine your leadership and clinical expertise in a busy perioperative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist anaesthetist and perioperative services within your clinical scope.
  • Participate in Anaesthesia Clinics, ensuring thorough documentation in line with professional standards.
  • Continuously monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and best practices.
  • Support the delivery of best-practice pain management as per professional standards.
  • Offer consultancy services for High Dependency Unit (HDU) patients (e.g., CVC placement, arterial lines).
  • Join the on-call roster for anaesthetics and be available for recall when needed.
  • Respond to clinical emergencies as per established policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, educate, and mentor Doctors-in-Training.

Required qualifications:

  • Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
  • Extensive experience in anaesthesia and perioperative services.
