We’re looking for two enthusiastic, customer-focused volunteers to be at the heart of our annual cancer fundraising campaign, The Longest Table - an incredible initiative where people come together over food to raise vital funds for cancer research. In 2024, our amazing community raised over $650,000 , bringing us closer to a cancer-free future!
As a Fundraising Campaigns Assistant , you’ll play a key role in supporting our event hosts, making them feel welcomed, supported, and inspired throughout their fundraising journey. You’ll also assist with campaign communications, answer queries, and help with exciting behind-the-scenes tasks like email outreach, website updates, and social media content.
This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in events, marketing, and fundraising , all while being part of a movement that’s changing lives.
Volunteer duties & responsibilities:
What You'll Be Doing
As a Fundraising Campaigns Assistant, you'll be an essential part of The Longest Table campaign, helping to create an unforgettable experience for our amazing event hosts. Your role will include:
Welcome & Support Our Hosts – Be the friendly voice that makes our event hosts feel valued and inspired! Call and thank them for joining The Longest Table , offer fundraising tips, and cheer them on as they work towards their goals.
Be the Go-To Person – Answer questions via phone and email, ensuring every host has the info and support they need for a smooth and successful fundraising experience.
Keep the Momentum Going – Help draft and send engaging emails to keep supporters informed, excited, and motivated throughout the campaign.
Keep The Longest Table Website Fresh – Update event pages and campaign details on platforms like WordPress or Funraisin , ensuring all the latest info is available.
Bring The Longest Table to Life on Social Media – Help share updates, supporter shoutouts, and inspiring stories across social media to engage the wider community and encourage even more people to get involved.
Confidentiality Matters – Treat all THRFG-related matters with professionalism and discretion.

What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for enthusiastic, people-focused volunteers who are ready to bring their energy and creativity to The Longest Table . If you love connecting with people, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and want to make a real impact , this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Police Clearance – Must have (or be willing to obtain) a National Police Clearance Certificate.
Education – You’re currently studying or have recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, or a similar field.
Experience – Previous experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality is a plus! Strong interpersonal skills and a knack for making people feel welcome will be essential.
Tech-Savvy – Confident using Microsoft 365 , and ideally familiar with content management systems like WordPress, Funraisin, or Squarespace . Social media skills? Even better!

Work Schedule:
