The Company:
Our client is a leading high precision cutting edge CNC company and are looking for a skilled and experienced professional to take on machining duties with both CNC and manual machines, ensuring precision and quality across all tasks. As a key player in there operations, you will work closely with management, mentor apprentices, and help drive the business forward.
Responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Experience with Fanuc & Mazak machines
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and safe work practices.
- Complete job/time/clocking cards accurately, maintaining effective time management.
- Maintain accurate records on a daily basis and manage machining according to engineering drawings.
- Undertake shift work as required to meet operational needs.
- Report any machine faults, infrastructure issues, or equipment problems to the Wingfield Operations Team.
- Collaborate with senior management to resolve any conflicts between operational procedures and safety requirements.
- Assist with fitting, maintenance, and general hand duties as needed.
- Care for and organise company gauges and measuring equipment.
- Work with the operations team to help grow the business through client and project diversification.
The successful candidate will require the following attributes:
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques, including 5S, waste elimination, and visual communication.
- Understanding of different grades of steel and their machining characteristics.
- At least 5 years of experience operating and programming metalworking machinery in a customer-focused manufacturing environment.
- A current and relevant Trade Certificate.
- Possession of relevant licences advantageous
- Knowledge of both manual and computer-controlled turning and milling equipment.
- Must be physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role.
Hours & Rates:
- Competitive pay rate up to $45 per hour for the right candidate + Super + Overtime
- Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4pm but flexible with start and finish times.
