The Opportunity

Be a key player in securing South Australia's energy future!
ElectraNet seeks a skilled Telecommunications Network Specialist in a full-time position based in Adelaide, South Australia. You will play a vital role in ensuring the continuous operation and security of our critical network infrastructure. Reporting to the Lead Telecommunications Network Specialist, you'll focus on IP/MPLS-based network services, contributing to strategic projects and providing 24/7 support for real-time systems like SCADA and transmission protection. This role demands a strong OT security mindset, expertise in network administration (firewalls, routers, switches, etc.), and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Success will depend on your skills in network automation, change management, and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including the Cyber Security team.
You will also be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist technical support to other ElectraNet groups.
  • Administering all IP/MPLS networks.
  • Analysing network performance and optimise system resources.
  • Managing the telecommunications IP network for substations.
  • Fostering technical innovation and continuous improvement.
About You

Do you have what it takes to secure our network? We're seeking a talented Telecommunications Network Specialist with:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Industry-recognised certifications (CCNP/CCIE or equivalent).
  • Deep understanding of LAN/WAN architecture, network administration (including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless), and IP/MPLS.
  • Practical experience managing network equipment via Linux.
  • A proven track record of collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to build and maintain reliable IP networks.
  • Expertise with Cisco (or equivalent) carrier-grade network products.
  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
