Position Overview:
As a Security Officer within an educational environment, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of students, staff, and school property. You will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling designated areas, responding to incidents, and providing a visible security presence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patrol: Conduct regular campus patrols, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to deter and detect suspicious activity.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations, providing support and assistance as needed.
• Access Control: Monitor access points, including entrances and exits, ensuring that only authorised individuals gain entry.
• Surveillance: Operate and monitor CCTV systems, reporting unusual behaviour or security breaches.
• Reporting: Document and report all incidents, observations, and security-related activities in a clear and detailed manner.
• Customer Service: Provide assistance and information to students, staff, and visitors professionally and courteously.
• Collaboration: Work closely with school administration, local law enforcement, and emergency services to ensure coordinated responses to incidents.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Skills: Strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to walk, stand, and respond quickly to incidents. Physical stamina and agility are required.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid security officer licence or certification is a plus. CPR and first aid certification is preferred.
