About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Contracts Administrator to play a key role in the design/planning phase as well as project delivery. Reporting into the Contracts Manager, you’ll be accountable for assisting in the preparations and negotiations with sub-contractors for the calling of quotations and letting of contracts and provide contract administration services to assist in the project’s control of contract costs.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projects.
- Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisation’s conditions relating to contracts for prospective projects.
- Manage and drive the review process to ensure the award of all subcontractors within the required time frame and budget.
- Maintain a register of subcontractors.
- Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum.
- Ensure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained and keep project management teams abreast of any cost’s issues immediately upon identification.
- Participate in identification and quantification of Head Contracts.
- Process and recommend progress claims for work completed and refer disputed claims by subcontractors to the relevant manager for decision.
- Interpret specifications and drawings so as to understand scope of works for the project at Head Contract and Subcontract scope level.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the Construction and Engineering industry.
