Team Leader - Nt

NPY Women's Council
Alice Springs Full-day Full-time

Description:

We are now recruiting for a Team Leader – NT based in Alice Springs to work alongside the Youth Management team in leading program staff to work with Anangu communities in developing, implementing and reviewing programs and strategies to address the recreational, social and emotional needs of youth on communities. This role is an integral part of the management team, including supervising staff whilst providing day-to-day delivery of the Youth program.

You will ensure Youth Development Officers, Anangu Support Workers and Project Officers in your team are provided with the support, supervision and development they require to be effective in their roles, whilst providing guidance and support to other Youth team special projects. The role will also be responsible for submissions of funding performance reports, ensuring accurate data collection, and assisting to manage multiple budgets that cross over with other operational services delivered by the team.

ABOUT YOU

It is essential for the ideal candidate to have relevant qualifications in either social work, case work, community development or related human services, as well as experience in youth work. Exposure to remote indigenous communities will be highly regarded.

You will be passionate about this type of work, with a willingness and capacity to learn the skill sets you don’t yet know. In this role, you will need to have high energy and be committed to working alongside Anangu. You will have values that closely align with our guiding principles, be resilient, driven and strong in relationship building. You will have experience in supervision and can also balance the day-to-day delivery of program work and projects.

This is a unique chance to work for an organisation that takes a grassroots approach to community development. You build lasting relationships within a remote community and get to experience an amazing landscape and part of the world. This is an extraordinary opportunity to learn about yourself, Anangu culture and to grow professionally at the same time.

You will work within a supportive, trauma informed team in an organisation which provides a comprehensive orientation program. You will receive best practice supervision and professional development that includes vicarious trauma, case management and four-wheel driving training. We also provide critical incident debriefing and a range of counselling services to support you.

In addition to this, we offer a generous remuneration package, an above award salary, salary packaging benefits, 25 days of annual leave, 15 days of personal leave (to care for you and your family) and a retention bonus. We also provide NPY Women’s Council accommodation and use of a company vehicle whilst living remote and travelling.
