Northern Territory Major Events Company first began in 1999 and set about to deliver and support major events from the Top End down to the Red Centre.

In fulfilling our vision to make the Territory a better place through events, our focus is to deliver, support and acquire unique and iconic events. We constantly strive to grow industry capability, secure the Territory’s identity as an exciting place to live and work, and deliver events that boost visitation and strengthen our economy.

We are dedicated to enhancing the Territory’s events industry, take great pride in the calibre and variety of events we offer. They include national sporting fixtures and championships, cultural festivals, music events and everything in between.

NTMEC is seeking three committed people for the 2025 Events Season to join the Event & Operations team with a starting date between March to April 2025 . The roles will see you help stage four of NT’s key major events:

• The Parramatta Eels V Canberra Raiders NRL Match on 12 April

• BASSINTHEGRASS Music Festival on 17 May

• The betr Darwin Triple Crown Supercars on 20-22 June

• MXGP on 19-21 September

Available positions are:

• Event Administration Assistant (7-month contract)

• Workforce Coordinator (6-month contract)

• Program Coordinator (6 months contract)

Joining NTMEC regardless if you are short-term or permanent means you’re part of the team. We are after team members who are supportive, passionate and committed towards helping us deliver some of the Territory’s biggest events. These positions are predominantly based on event sites with minimal time spent in the NTMEC office. You will have to organise your own accommodation and transport to and from work (noting that event sites are not remote). The role requires some evening and weekend work for event build and delivery for which timings will be communicated in advance.

Selection Criteria:

1. Ability to work well in a team whilst taking responsibility for your own work.

2. Demonstrated major event, venue or project management skills across a diverse portfolio of events and venues.

3. Demonstrated ability to remain productive whilst working under external pressures.

4. Proven customer service skills including sound oral and written communication skills and experience working with the general public.

5. Proven sound administration skills and ability to adapt to new software programs.

6. Ability to work outside normal working hours including public holidays and weekends.

7. Working with children qualification (OCHRE), current valid drivers licence, First Aid certification and Responsible Service of Alcohol certification or ability to obtain.

8. Ability and willingness to work outside normal working hours including public holidays and weekends as and when required to support events delivery.
