Aurenne Mining is seeking a dedicated Emergency Services/ Safety Officer to play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce. In this pivotal position, you’ll assist with emergency response while also providing guidance and support to operational teams on health and safety procedures, measures and requirements as per our Safety Management System.
The Emergency Services / Safety officer will be responsible for:
Emergency Response & Medical Support
• Providing first aid and emergency medical response as required
• Managing and inspecting emergency response equipment and vehicles are well maintained and ready for immediate use
• Managing and maintaining medical facilities (medical centre and first aid room)
• Coordinating emergency drills and incident response exercises
• Training and developing the site’s Emergency Response Team
Safety & Compliance
• Conducting workplace inspections and identifying hazards
• Ensuring employees and contractors comply with safety policies
• Maintaining up-to-date safety documentation and emergency response plans
• Conducting audits and updating safety registers
• Performing daily alcohol and random drug testing
• Managing return-to-work documentation and health clearances to ensure employees can safely work remotely under FIFO conditions
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Minimum 3 years in a similar role in mining
• Certificate IV in Health Care
• Certificate III in Mines Emergency Response
• Manual C Class driver’s licence
• Strong understanding of WA WSH Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to make effective decisions in rapidly changing situations
Desirable:
• Cert IV in Training & Assessment
• Cert IV in WHS or equivalent
• Medium Rigid (MR) class driver’s licence
• HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
• Combined Space Entry / Gas test
