About the role

Join our inclusive team as a Trainer and Assessor , committed to delivering enriching learning experiences for current and aspiring professionals in the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) sector . Reporting to the Training Manager , this part-time* role involves:

  • Delivering workplace-based training to construction materials testing laboratory and field staff.
  • Supporting students in developing technical laboratory skills , including planning and conducting tests, recording and analysing data, laboratory maintenance and more.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards and client requirements.
  • Providing timely feedback to ensure student progression with assessments .
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to support positive training outcomes.

* Please note:The contract is flexible to suit the right candidate. Full-time, or casual hours may be accommodated.

Must-haves - Experience and qualifications

  • Training and assessment credentials*
    • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110 with TAELLN411 and TAEASS502), or
    • A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training (e.g. TAE, TESOL ), or
    • A secondary teaching qualification (with TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024)
  • Relevant laboratory qualification (e.g., Diploma of Laboratory Technology, or higher), and industry experience within construction material testing (laboratory and/or field)
  • Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle for workplace visits
  • Strong interpersonal , communication , and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and high attention to detail
  • Previous training or teaching experience (highly regarded)
