The Role:
As a Disability Support Worker trainee, you will provide high quality care to individuals with a range of disabilities while helping to develop and maintain the skills, capacities, and lifestyles of these individuals to enhance their lives within the community.
Across 12 months you will work fulltime, gaining on-the-job experience, whilst receiving paid study to obtain a nationally recognised Certificate III in Individual Support .
Duties Include:
  • Assist with personal care including feeding, bathing, toileting and grooming
  • Provide social support including encouraging social interaction and interest of hobbies
  • Assist with the movement and transport of clients with mobility devices
  • Provide transport for shopping, outings and appointments
  • Provide support with medication or other medical needs
  • Communicate client’s health, well-being and progress to supervisor
  • Ensure clients individual needs and preferences are met
  • Always respect and maintain client confidentially and privacy
  • Administrative tasks as otherwise directed

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive and nurturing attitude
  • Committed to providing exceptional client care
  • Ability to adapt to change, and be flexible with conflicting timelines and workloads
  • High standards of presentation and personal hygiene
  • Showcase initiative and problem-solving skills

Role Requirements:
  • Identify as First Nations Australian
  • Hold a current drivers’ licence
  • Fully registered and insured reliable vehicle
  • National Police Clearance and NDIS Clearance (or willing to obtain)
  • Ability to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment
