About the Opportunity

As Team Leader – Parks, you’ll oversee the daily operations of parks, reserves and streetscapes within the City of Melville. You’ll lead a team, ensuring scheduled maintenance programs run smoothly while upholding safety and environmental standards. Your responsibilities will include supervising staff, training team members, monitoring infrastructure and liaising with stakeholders to maintain a strong customer service focus. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on the City’s outdoor spaces for our community while working with a great team.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Essential

  • Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks & Gardens, Turf Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience leading and supervising teams in parks, gardens, or open space maintenance, including workload planning and performance management.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with staff, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Ability to assess operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Well-developed literacy and numeracy skills to support documentation and reporting.
  • Current MR (Medium Rigid) Class Driver’s Licence.
  • White Card.
