Metallurgist

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and experiments on metals and alloys to evaluate their properties and behavior under different conditions
• Analyze metallurgical data and prepare reports detailing findings, recommendations, and improvements
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and enhance processes related to material selection, fabrication, and testing
• Provide technical expertise in the failure analysis of materials and components to identify root causes and solutions
• Stay informed about advancements in metallurgy and materials science to propose innovative solutions and methodologies
• Assist in developing and refining metallurgical processes to improve product quality and performance
• Document procedures and maintain records of experiments, analyses, and results for compliance and future reference
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Metallurgist or in a similar role within the materials industry
• Strong understanding of metallurgical principles, including phase transformation, heat treatment, and material properties
• Proficiency in analytical techniques, such as microscopy, spectroscopy, and mechanical testing
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a detail-oriented mindset
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience with CAD software and data analysis tools is a plus
