Description:
We are currently seeking to appoint a Physical Performance Manager to oversee the Physical Performance Programs for Victorian State Female squads and W/BBL teams.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Design and implement appropriate fitness programs relating to strength, power, speed, workload monitoring & rehabilitation
- Design and implement the pre-season training program for all Victorian Women's State contracted players
- Organise and implement fitness/performance testing aligned with AC and CV testing protocols
- Provide reports to CV Cricket Performance Staff on the current fitness status of individuals and the squad in general
- Utilise data to monitor and plan for individual players in relation to physical loading. Have a strong understanding of how to use GPS (Catapult, Openfield) and be able to download, analyse and report to SSSM and coaching staff
- Liaise with all medical and SSSM staff in relation to rehabilitation/injury management, ensure players have appropriate return to play plans documented
- Prescribe and implement programs for Victorian Women's contracted players not affiliated with a WBBL franchise over the duration of the Women's Big Bash League
- Support individual and team training programs for players within the WBBL
- Lead and drive latest research and systems to ensure up-to-date physical performance practices for CV programs
- Liaise with the State Dietitian to ensure all training and match-day hydration and supplementation strategies and protocols are designed and implemented in accordance to ASADA guidelines
About You
The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' working with elite athletes or teams in a high performance environment. They will have a strong ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with a diverse group of players and coaches, as well as within a multidisciplinary SSSM team. Ultimately the successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion to deliver a world class, evidence-based strength and conditioning program to our female athletes to maximise performance and minimise injury.
To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar role/high performance sport
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with elite athletes (preferably experience with female athletes)
- Demonstrated ability to successfully develop, implement and manage strength, conditioning, recovery and rehabilitation programs for elite athletes
- Demonstrated ability to collect and analyse physical performance data
- Demonstrated experience of dealing with complex sport injuries and implementing successful rehabilitation programs utilising a multidisciplinary team
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Exercise Science / Strength and Conditioning
- Minimum and currently active Level 2 Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) qualification
- Valid and Current First Aid and CPR certificates
