Victoria University (VU) is seeking a strategic and collaborative Senior Manager, UX & Design. As a design leader, you will ensure an optimal user experience across all digital channels, leading a team of specialists in UX design, UI design, and content.
You’ll provide strategic direction, foster a high-performing culture, and upskill teams to drive best practice. Working closely with the Director, Digital & User Experience and senior stakeholders, you’ll align digital initiatives with VU’s strategic goals to deliver innovative and user-centered solutions.

About the Role
As our Senior Manager, UX & Design, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the success of our digital user experiences, design, and content initiatives. Your multifaceted responsibilities will encompass strategic planning, team leadership, design leadership, content strategy and Information Architecture (IA) design.
As the driving force behind UX, design, and content strategy, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance VU’s digital experience. Leading a team of designers and content specialists, you’ll ensure digital experiences are intuitive, accessible, and engaging for prospective and current students, staff, and other audiences. Your expertise will shape a cohesive digital ecosystem that aligns with user needs, brand strategy, and best practices in UX and content design.

About You

- Significant expertise and knowledge in digital user experience, user interface design, user research, usability testing, information architecture and content strategy and management
- Excellent knowledge of W3C Accessibility Standards
- Knowledge and practical application of Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Highly developed written and oral communication with a strong attention to detail and commitment to assuring the highest quality of outputs
- High-level interpersonal skills, including negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on key stakeholder management
- Knowledge of how large and complex environments operate and the importance of cross-unit collaboration to achieve successful outcomes
Conditions & Benefits
This is a fixed-term backfill position offered at HEP 9 classification with salary range being $128,446 - $133,636 per annum plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 hours per week.
