About the role:
- This role reports to our Program Manager
- Responsible for the management of projects in the development phase

In executing this role, you will:
- Take ownership of the Project Development phase, ensuring schedule, specification, budget, and contractual requirements are met.
- Plan, review, coordinate, and report on assigned projects in accordance with best practice.
- Optimise resource utilisation for maximum efficiency.
- Prepare weekly and monthly status reports for the Program Manager.
- Lead, manage, and prioritise deliverables according to project needs.
- Maintain project-related intellectual property, defence security, and confidentiality obligations.
- Manage customer relationships to address potential issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to ensure designs are clear, cost-effective, and meet customer specifications.
- Collaborate with the Quality Lead to ensure quality standards are adhered to.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain Lead to ensure timely, specification-compliant, and budget-aligned supply deliveries.
- Support bid and proposal preparation in collaboration with the Business Development Manager.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A degree or diploma in Science, Engineering, or Project Management.
- Demonstrated experience in project management within a product development team.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Microsoft Project, and general ERP systems.
- Proven experience in product development, ideally in mechatronics or industrial design.
- Exceptional time and task management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise to meet deadlines.
- Ability to lead and manage a team, including sharing knowledge and experiences to achieve outcomes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of supporting a team in developing creative and innovative solutions.
- Flexibility to adapt to new tasks, technologies, processes, and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Defence industry experience is an advantage but those with experience in other industries such as Rail/Transport, Medical, Automotive or Commercial Electronics are encouraged to apply.
