Position Overview:
The Melbourne Place Hotel is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our maintenance team. This full-time position is essential for ensuring the hotel remains a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in general maintenance and repair tasks, demonstrating a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting to ensure hotel facilities are in excellent condition.
- Guest Services: Respond promptly to guest repair requests and maintenance issues, ensuring minimal disruption to their stay.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify potential issues before they become significant problems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance techniques and repair procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.
- Availability for flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays
