We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Officer/Accounting Assistant to join our finance team and contribute to Kolbe’s financial health.
Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility and specific duties include:
- Reconcile the cash and bank accounts.
- Update the Cash Flow report daily.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
- Complete monthly credit card reconciliation.
- Monitor and reconcile the staff leave in support of the Payroll Officer.
- Assist with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Data entry of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Assist with other projects/ad hoc tasks across the Finance Team as required.
- Assist with the month-end, year-end and auditing processes
- Relief reception and student reception duties when required.
- Other duties as required by and negotiated with the Principal, Business Manager and Assistant Business Manager.
- Attend staff meetings, team meetings and professional learning activities as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting or another similar role in a medium/large sized organisation.
- Previous experience in working in school settings with an emphasis on financial services would be an advantage.
- Previous experience with Synergetic is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets.
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exceptional time management skills, well organised and able to prioritise workloads efficiently.
- Strong data entry and administration experience.
- Knowledge of a ‘learning management system’ in schools (administration software) would be an advantage.
- A National Criminal Records Check with Working with Children Card application would be essential as part of the appointment process.

- Part time (FTE 0.5 - 0.6)
- Review - a performance review process will be developed based on a self and peer appraisal.
