About the role / Key Responsibilities
Working with our Disputes + Litigation team, this is a dynamic, fast-paced role. Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
• Work closely with the Disputes + Litigation cluster coordinator to continue to grow and enhance the practice group
• Work closely and collaboratively with all of the Disputes + Litigation team as well as other teams across Law Squared
• Complete legal work and manage files across Disputes + Litigation
• Manage the retention of clients including engaging and nurturing these relationships
• Actively work with the Disputes + Litigation team to execute the team goals and achieve the targets in line with Law Squared Strategic Plan
• Participate in client acquisition and retention strategies and activities on behalf of the Disputes + Litigation team
People development and management
• Work with your team members and support, train and mentor to enable a consistent quality and style in the Law Squared way and support the development of particular team members
• Support with the review and improvement of the service offerings and solutions including the ways of working, proposals, knowledge sharing and the use of technology
• Assist in onboarding of new team members
Client experience
• Deliver legal services in the Law Squared way, providing a consistent, quality service
• Manage, nurture and grow our clients by developing strong, trusted, empathetic relationships with them
• Where requested, act as an effective point of contact for clients
Team targets
At Law Squared we do not have individual targets rather we set targets on a practice group level. A shared team approach to achieving these targets avoids any siloed behaviour, encourages the sharing of resources and opportunities and importantly fosters a culture of collaboration.
About you
The ideal candidate:
We are looking for a Disputes + Litigation lawyer ready to join an innovative and compelling alternative to the traditional firm. The ideal candidate will:
• Have 5+ PQE;
• Preferably experience in acting for financiers and recovery agents across debt and asset recovery and financier disputes across varying jurisdictions in Australia;
• Additionally or alternatively, insurance litigation, both settlements and recoveries and general debt recovery litigation across varying jurisdictions around Australia;
• Have great attention to detail;
• Have the ability to work in a team environment and collaborate where necessary;
• Manage and progress files;
• Have strong communication skills (both verbal and written); and
• Have the ability to engage effectively with clients.
