The Position

The Integrated Family Services (IFS) Program is an evidence- informed, culturally safe program partnering with the children, family, and other services to provide an integrated service within the Best Interests Case Practice Framework, funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. The Senior IFS Practitioner provides high quality service delivery through individual and group-based implementation of high quality, culturally sensitive and accessible services to vulnerable children, young people, and their families. The Senior Practitioner is responsible for ensuring high quality practice through formal supervision, service development, quality improvement practices and the provision of casework across the Integrated Family Services Program

The IFS Senior Practitioner manages high risk and complex cases and offers evidence- informed intensive, whole of family case support and specialist services by designing flexible and innovative interventions to address the needs and increase the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and families. Through engagement, evidence-based assessment, planning and the review of services, the Senior Practitioner promotes sustainable change that achieves positive social, emotional, educational and health outcomes for children and their families. Delivery of service occurs primarily through ongoing implementation, review, and progress of assessment of the needs of the client to deliver evidence[1]informed best practice programs and services as directed by the Victorian Leadership Team in line with Baptcare strategic objectives for the Community Services teams in Victoria.

About You

  • Ability to supervise, coach and develop staff
  • Familiarity with program-funded environments and risk assessment frameworks
  • Ability to adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through
  • Ability to think strategically, work creatively, effectively and in an innovative manner
  • Excellent communication skills, in written and verbal English, highly impactful influencing, negotiation, persuasion and problem-solving skills including capacity to develop trusted relationships with consumers and community
  • Evidence-informed understanding of child development and the impact of trauma and violence on adults, children, and young people
  • Stakeholder management and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with local movements and networks, government associations, business leaders and other relevant stakeholders
  • Be self-directed and work autonomously and demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills and use of full suite of Microsoft office
  • Adaptable to changing environments while maintaining and promoting client-centred practices

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or other relevant Human Services qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years’ field experience (including leadership experience)
  • Current Police Check (national and international if relevant)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Victorian Driver's License
