As a Digital Content Migration volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in preparing the new website for its launch in July 2025. Your primary responsibility will be transferring content from Word documents (copy decks) into new website templates on the Optimizely platform.
No prior experience with Optimizely is required and full training will be provided in a supportive and collaborative Brand & Marketing team within the Communications portfolio.
This role ensures that all content aligns with The Salvation Army’s brand, digital accessibility standards, mission, and values and is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital content management while contributing to a meaningful, mission-driven project.
Key Tasks

Follow the content migration plan to guide the transfer process.

Copy and publish content into new Optimizely website templates.

Ensure brand and accessibility guidelines are met.

Attend training on using Optimizely for content migration.

Transfer and format content accurately from Word documents into the new system.

Background check requirements
Background checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation. Where an applicant has disclosable history, the selection process includes a fair assessment and a risk management approach. As this role involves access to The Salvation Army systems and possibly encountering confidential information, it requires a National Police Check.
Training Requirements
One of the many ways we care for people is by ensuring our workers are well equipped with the necessary knowledge to complete their role safely. To successfully undertake this role, the following training is :

Foundational training which includes an introduction to The Salvation Army, Code of Conduct training, work-safe and child-safe practices.

Website platform (Optimizely) training will be provided
Development opportunities with this role
This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in working with a ‘state of the art’ website, Optimizely which supports known brand such as Australian Redcross, Nike, Visa, Disney and Fred Hollows Foundation.
Time Required & Commitment
Ideally one day a week – the hours/day to be determined in discussion with Leah MacGibbon (General Manager Digital Marketing).
Ideally for a period of three months April to June.
Opportunity to work from TSA Head office based in Blackburn, Melbourne or online.
