About the Role:
The Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assessment Officer to join our team. As an integral part of the AACA, the Assessment Officer will support the Assessment Managers in evaluating the qualifications and professional experience of overseas applicants seeking registration as architects in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to enquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely and accurate communication. Liaise with applicants, stakeholders, committee members, and assessors.
  • Assess overseas qualifications in architecture for migration and registration purposes.
  • Conduct research and analysis of relevant educational and registration systems.
  • Manage verification processes and Mutual Recognition Accreditation (MRA) applications.
  • Schedule and host assessment interviews.
  • Provide secretariat services for senior panels and committees.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports on applications.
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes and policies that support AACA's mission.
  • Maintain updated procedure manuals and ensure compliance with governance and accreditation requirements.
  • Assist with administrative support for other AACA programs as needed.
Previous skills and experience:
  • Qualification or experience in administration and program coordination.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • High level of administrative proficiency and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Experience in customer service and stakeholder engagement.
  • Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and workplace diversity.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector or architectural industry.
