About the Role
The Dispatch Assistant is responsible for assisting with the flow of stock and materials outbound including despatching and order processing. This role is pivotal in ensuring that customers receive their orders accurately and on time, contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the business.
Your role will involve, but is not limited to:
- Order Dispatch: Receiving and reviewing orders, verifying order accuracy and completeness. Preparing orders for despatch. Ensuring sold stock is despatched as fast as possible33
- Ensuring timely dispatch of goods or services. Communicating with drivers and providing necessary instructions, including couriers and internal drivers.
- Labeling & Packing – Label and pack items securely to prevent damage during transportation.
- Workplace Safety – Follow safety guidelines when handling products and operating equipment.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels and stock availability. Maintaining accurate records of inventory. Notifying relevant personnel about low stock levels.
- Quality Control: Inspecting goods for quality and compliance with order specifications prior to dispatching to customers. Addressing quality issues and discrepancies. Recording and reporting quality-related problems.
- Documentation, Record-Keeping + Reporting: Generating, updating and maintaining accurate records of despatch activities and reports.
- Freight Support: Provide freight support to all departments as needed. Interact with National Warehouse/Logistics Manager as required for inbound/outbound freight to and from H.O. including unloading/Loading of delivery trucks as required.
- Customer Communication: Providing information to customers who are picking up regarding order status, delivery times, and any delays. Handling customer inquiries and resolving issues.
- Equipment Maintenance: Respectful use of despatch equipment, such as vehicles, forklifts, or handheld devices in order to perform the role effectively. Reporting equipment malfunctions and repairs as required.
- Problem Solving + Team Collaboration.
About You
- Current Drivers Licence and Forklift Licence
- Prior Warehouse experience preferred.
- Computer literacy
- Manual handling experience
- Capacity to move and lift 25kg
