This full-time role involves working across both our CBD and St Leonards locations, with the possibility of a part-time arrangement (minimum four days per week) for the right candidate. The ideal applicant will have at least six years of optometry experience and be ready to take on responsibilities from the previous owner.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to evaluate visual acuity and overall eye health
- Diagnose eye conditions and prescribe the appropriate treatments, including medication, eye drops, glasses, or contact lenses
- Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other specialists when necessary
- Provide patients with education on proper eye care, including hygiene and nutrition
- Maintain detailed, accurate medical records and develop individualized treatment plans with follow-up care
- Stay current with the latest research, innovations, and best practices in optometry
About you
- AHPRA registration with no conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric approach
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records
- Knowledge of current optometric practices and emerging trends
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively with a team
