As the Senior Commercial Operations Advisor , based out of any of our network of offices across Australia, you’ll be working within a supportive team that provides key systems support, compliance and analysis to the legal teams and Business Services department.
No two days are the same in the Commercial Operations team, it’s a fast-moving environment with engaging opportunities to enhance process and compliance on a regular basis.
This is an ideal role for someone with a background in business operations, administration, or the legal industry, who has an interest in process management, and a desire to support the legal teams at Shine from behind the scenes.
The Role
- Action incoming requests from the legal teams for assistance.
- Collect, audit and analyse data, to identify efficiency improvement opportunities across operational revenue
- Ensure initiatives led by the Commercial Operations team are completed in a timely manner, such as legislative, workflow or policy changes requiring updates to systems, precedents or processes.
- Provide guidance to the business, on documented policies, procedures, and processes of the firm.
- Act as a mentor to junior members of the team, offering assistance and leading the Commercial Operations function in the absence of the Commercial Operations Manager.
- Understand drivers of business performance and the impact of Commercial Operations on enhancing financial performance.
- Assist the Finance team to monitor and document benefit realisation from process improvements or price reviews or cost recovery.
- Act as a champion of E-Portal systems by coordinating and administering Courts, Government and Matter Funding portals, costs agreement re-execution and rate compliance.
- Update precedents including costs agreements and disclosure statements nationally, ensuring all information is correct and relevant for each jurisdiction.
- While there are no formal qualifications required for this role, it would be advantageous to have prior experience or studies within the business, finance or legal field, with a strong understanding of business compliance, process control and framework reviews.
- An organised approach and the ability to prioritise workload.
- Well-developed ability to work autonomously within a team environment to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work and contribute to a positive team focussed attitude, including the capability to deal with conflicting and confidential priorities.
- Practical problem-solving skills and a strong outcome focus Capable of attention to detail when reviewing large data sets and applying these datasets to expected process outcomes.
- A high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality improvement, and commitment to improving client care, staff engagement and participation.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with impact across all levels of management.
- Experience with Thomson Reuters Elite would be advantageous.
