About the role

Based at our Newstead office t he Technical Specialist – Integration Developer will work in Digital Enablement product teams, and will be design, develop, and maintain API integrations, focusing on AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, and Cognito to meet business requirements.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Work collaboratively with Digital Enablement team members to develop and deliver integration services to project, operational teams and the wider business to deliver both fit for purpose and re-usable solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code with commenting and notes, following lean agile standards and practices.
  • Evaluate and optimise integration documentation, processes and technologies to adapt to changing business needs, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices.
  • Develop unit test packages and mocks for the API and integration components.
  • Conduct code reviews, data validation and quality control checks.

About You

As the ideal candidate you will have a depth of experience as an integration / API developer with a proven experience with AWS- Based Solutions.

Motivated to contribute to outcomes, you will be an out of the box thinker, who thrives in solving complex technical matters and discussions. Your exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills will see you successfully work with a diverse internal and external group.

To be successful in this role you will possess

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an integration/API developer, with a focus on AWS-based solutions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Expertise in implementing APIs using AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, etc.), with a strong background in languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Proficient in programming (JavaScript, Python, or Java) and Object-Oriented Design principles.
  • Strong back-end development and design principles, with experience in scalable and high-performance architecture.
  • Experience with AWS services such as AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk for CI/CD and deployment.
  • Experience with relational databases and AWS managed services such as Amazon RDS or Amazon Aurora.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and the implementation of APIs in a microservices-based environment.
