About the roles
An exciting professional development opportunity for an experienced Nurse to demonstrate their leadership and management capabilities by providing leave relief for the Nurse Unit Managers for the next 12 months. Applications are considered for the one or multiple areas within the Neonatal Critical Care unit.

Salary range: $71.42 - $76.80 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The successful applicant will be responsible for the clinical and operational management of the area utilising strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Other duties and responsibilities include:
- Caring for and leading a team of professionals in a busy, dynamic and complex environment
- Promoting and supporting a positive workplace culture and assisting implementation of service improvement activities
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that services are efficient and patient safety is optimized
- Cost centre management in line with budget
- Managing team performance and ongoing recruitment as required
- Delivering targets against relevant timeframes to meet service KPI’s
About you
To be considered for the role you will have:
- A post graduate neonatal qualification or equivalent
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and time management skills
- Competence to lead and manage a clinical team to optimise clinical outcomes utilising risk management and quality improvement principles
- Ability to effectively manage a clinical cost centre
- Understanding and application of contemporary human resource management practices
- Positive mentor and role model capabilities with a focus on enhancing Mater's value driven culture to achieve excellence in the care and ultimately the corporate performance of Mater Health Services.
