Mackay Regional Council is looking for a permanent, full-time Water Meter & AMR Officer to join our Water Network team at the Paget Depot.
About this opportunity:
In this role, you will:
- Install, replace, and disconnect water meters and Automatic Meter Reader (AMR) devices across the Mackay region.
- Conduct accurate and timely water meter readings and inspect meters for defects, damage, or unauthorised connections.
- Investigate and test AMR signal strength to ensure reliability.
- Perform flow tests to verify water meter functionality.
- Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders, including managing customer enquiries and complaints.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- General Construction Safety "White" Card.
- QLD "C" Class Driver’s Licence (or interstate equivalent).
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office and electronic devices (Toughpad) for meter and AMR installations.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal teams and external customers.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance, labouring, trades, or a similar field.
- Great attention to detail and well-developed fine motor skills.
