As a Metro Bus Operator:

  • You enjoy providing an exceptional customer experience and the rewarding nature of the day-to-day interactions with passengers from all walks of life
  • You enjoy an office with a view, servicing the communities of beautiful Tasmania
  • You are a part of a supportive and passionate team

What you’ll need:

  • A good driving history, with the capacity to learn to safely and reliably drive a heavy passenger vehicle
  • Complete a National Police Check from Tasmania Police
  • Hold (or can obtain) a working with vulnerable people (WWVP) card
  • Have held a current, full Australian Driver’s Licence for at least 2 years
  • Have full working rights in Australia
  • Pass a pre-employment physical assessment, including a Drug and Alcohol test
  • Obtain a Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) licence

Don’t have a heavy vehicle licence yet? No worries.. . You’ll start your career at Metro with 6 weeks of paid, extensive training to get your medium rigid Metro licence.
