We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Project Officer to join the Priority Reforms team at The Department of Treasury & Finance on a temporary basis.

Remuneration: ASO6 – Salary Range ($98,478 - $104,165 p.a.).

About the opportunity:

The Senior Project Officer reports directly to the Principal Advisor and plays a crucial role in the research, development, review, and implementation of policy reform projects. This position involves preparing proposals, submissions, briefs, options papers, and reports, including high-profile public-facing documents, along with the necessary research and analysis. The Officer will also conduct research for ministerial briefings, provide well-considered advice on policy options to support decision-making, and respond to ad hoc requests for information and advice.

About you

To be successful you will have:

  • Strong analytical and research skills, including strategic/innovative thinking.
  • Ability to effectively engage, consult and negotiate with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external to government.
  • Ability to identify and deal with sensitive and/or politically sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy and maintaining complete confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a team environment to prioritise work, meet deadlines and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics, EEO and cultural inclusion.
  • An understanding of the legislative requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.
  • An understanding of and ability to work/manage to the spirit and principles of AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk management – Guidelines.
