ABOUT THE ROLE
Work closely with the GM Commercial and GM - National Second Tier, to drive revenue growth and achieve annual commercial revenue budget through commercial rights sales especially across sponsorship and media rights.
To lead the commercial development and management of Football Australia’s competitions, initially focused primarily on the National Second Tier but also supporting other competitions as required from time to time.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Revenue Generation
- Secure and service commercial partners to meet marketing goals, enhance fan experience, renew contracts, and grow returns.
- Manage the commercial sales cycle and partner servicing for the National Second Tier and future competitions.
- Develop and market long-term partnership opportunities and rights packages.
- Oversee the entire sales cycle, including research, lead generation, presentations, negotiations, and contracting.
- Maintain the sales pipeline and reporting.
- Monitor industry trends and developments.
Partnership Management
- Service all NST Partner needs, including sponsorship deliverables.
- Ensure Football Australia fulfills contractual obligations to partners, delivering value and maintaining high sponsor satisfaction.
- Implement regular partnership meetings with partners and broadcasters.
- Monitor and review partner benefits, proactively presenting ideas to maximize objectives.
- Collaborate with Football Australia’s Digital, Content, Community, Marketing, Media, Legal, and Competitions teams.
Commercial Strategy and Operations
- Contribute to internal Competitions meetings, providing commercial input and supporting competition success.
- Work with Chief Revenue Officer, GM – Commercial, and GM – NST on developing the overall commercial concept for NST.
- Assess commercial rights opportunities and develop strategies for revenue and strategic opportunities.
- Oversee commercial operations requirements, including signage plans, matchday activations, VIP experiences, and other operational elements.

ABOUT YOU
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years in a commercial role, ideally with a background in sport, entertainment or media
- Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized individual
- Methodical and measured in your approach to solving problems
- Highly capable with Microsoft Office for developing sales collateral
- Passionate about sales and building meaningful relationships
- Comfort presenting to mid-senior management
- Ability to articulate clear understanding of data and analytics to justify deal proposals and structure
- High doses of positivity, enthusiasm, curiosity, passion, flexibility, and resilience
- Committed in the service of delivering results and being a key contributor in a high performing team
- Advocacy for the power of sport and entertainment to drive B2B and B2C marketing outcomes
- Proven success in a competitive sport sponsorship / business development environment
- At least 4 years’ experience in a commercially focused role, including developing, selling, and activating strategies to meet business objectives and revenue targets
- Comfort presenting to senior executives and/or competition clubs.
- Proven success in a competitive sport sponsorship / business development environment
- Ability to work on multiple projects to different timelines

Additional Requirements:
- Full working rights in Australia
- Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent
- International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
- Out of hours and weekend work as required
