About the Role
NovitaTech is an Assistive Technology (AT) supplier and service centre specialises in the supply, design, modification, testing and maintenance of AT. This role will support the wider team but will have a significant focus on our new Assistive Technology Refurbishment and Rental pilot.
The pilot will allow people to rent or purchase refurbished AT, making it simpler, faster, and more affordable. It’s open to anyone under the age of 65 with a disability, not just those on the NDIS, and aims to support more people to participate fully in their communities.
The aim of the pilot is to develop a sustainable model that will allow millions of AT users across Australia to access the equipment they need to make the world fit them.
To succeed in the role, you’ll bring your strong clinical/technical problem-solving skills. With previous experience providing a wide range of equipment including, but not limited to, items in the areas of:
- Power wheelchairs
- Manual wheelchairs
- Strollers
- Custom seating
- Hoists and slings
- Beds and sleep systems
- Showering and toileting aids
Whilst the role is perfect for a senior clinician/Engineer who wants to not only support their clients but propose and develop solutions that will be presented to the NDIA with the aim of improving the current system for accessing AT. It’s also an opportunity for a less experienced clinician/Engineer to bring fresh ideas to the table, again with the aim of finding a better way to support all AT users. On the job training is provided.
Skills And Experiences
Along with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration or membership to the Australian Institute of Engineering, to be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:
- An innovative, can-do attitude
- Demonstrated ability to apply a range of clinical interventions including MAT evaluations and custom seating and off the shelf solutions (desirable)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with good hand tool skills
- Experience working in a trans-disciplinary setting
- A commitment to continuing professional development in the assistive technology space
- Experience providing clinical support to clients in mobility and daily living
- Experience in equipment modifications for custom items via a range of funding sources including NDIS (desirable)
- Use your excellent communication skills to clearly articulate the NDIS funding framework and other funders liaising with stakeholders around the time and resources required to fulfil assistive technology prescriptions.
Remuneration Package
Total remuneration package includes base salary, annual leave loading and statutory superannuation contribution. Enjoy salary packaging up to $15,900 of your salary, increasing your take-home pay by approximately $5,000. Further salary-packaging benefits available include meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire, private novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions.
