The Graduate School of Medicine (GSM) aims to graduate excellent medical practitioners with a commitment to patient-centred, evidence-based, reflective and cost-effective medical practice, who have the capacity and desire to contribute to the enhancement of health care for persons in all geographic settings but particularly in regional, rural and remote communities. Closing the gap on Indigenous health and social outcomes is a priority and GSM aims to produce culturally safe medical practitioners. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is delivered primarily on two campuses located in Wollongong and Shoalhaven, as well as in numerous rural sites throughout NSW.
The University of Sydney's North Coast University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) works in collaboration with the University of Wollongong and Western Sydney University to implement an education and training program for long-stay medical students in the NSW North Coast region.
In this role you will provide administrative support for the Graduate School of Medicine’s (GSM) student placement activities in the Grafton, Maclean and Yamba regions of the North Coast of NSW. You will also provide support to the GSM Regional Academic Leader: Grafton/Maclean Hub along with coordination and support of GSM students and preceptors for clinical and community placements within medical practices, hospitals and community health facilities in the region. You will also support activities and initiatives of the Clarence Valley Regional Training Hub.
Please note the following special job requirements:
- You will be required to occasionally work outside of normal business hours and to travel to confer with colleagues at other locations.
- As this position requires attendance at Public Health Facilities, the position holder must comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases (PG1) Policy Directive (PD2024_015)
