Kit is an earning-and-learning money app helping young people do more. Our nifty nudges and kid-friendly explainers make money make sense. Kids learn best by in-the-moment experience, so we built Kit – our friendly sidekick. Kit has the smart money know-how to nurture positive behaviours through nifty nudges and bite-sized educational content.Kit is built by x15ventures and wholly owned by CommBank. We are a venture in scale-up mode, which means we’re endlessly improving to deliver the best experience for young people and their parents and carers in Australia.

• We’re based in CommBank’s facilities at South Eveleigh, with an expectation to be in-office at least 50% of the time, including Tuesdays and Fridays.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities include:

• Define and execute the venture’s technology strategy in alignment with business goals.

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of customer obsession, innovation and excellence.

• Stay hands-on with coding, architecture design, and system implementation where needed.

• Drive the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance technology solutions.

• Oversee DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and security best practices.

• Collaborate closely with product, operations, and business teams to deliver value-driven technology solutions.

• Keep up with emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the company.

Experience

The ideal candidate will bring the following qualifications and expertise:

• Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar leadership role in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong empathy and experience with products serving our target customers – parents with children 5-14.

• Expertise in full stack technology (Flutter, PostgreSQL, GraphQL APIs, Azure)

• Hands-on experience with coding, system architecture, and infrastructure.

• Track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.

• Experience in scaling technology for high-growth businesses.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Project administration and managing high performing teams
