With a new contract commencing in early 2025, we currently have full time and casual roles available for Catering Assistants to join the Spotless team in its subcontract to Secure Journeys. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparing and serving of high-quality, nutritious meals contributing to the overall well-being of those in the centre.

What you’ll do

The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:

  • Assemble, prepare, and produce food requirements as directed by the Chef Manager/Head Chef.
  • Cleaning the food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils.
  • Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitoring food safety standards and practices, maintaining hygiene in food preparation areas, and completing all Food Safety Documentation accurately and timely.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated following safe work procedures, maintained in a clean and safe condition.

What you’ll bring

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Cert II - Kitchen Operations
  • Food Safety Certificates
  • Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
