We are excited to offer the role of an Assistant Category Manager under our Category Development team.

This role will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of the Category and Channel Strategy.

This role will be based in any of our NSW work sites - Warriewood or Surry Hills with an expectation to come in at least 3 days in office and 2 days from home.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Category Development Managers in developing 5Ps strategies by channel that include pricing and promotional framework for the Channel. There will be a key focus on:
    • Market and competitive analysis
    • ROI
    • Alignment with customer strategy
    • Market share, sales, margin and trade spend objectives
  • Develop and communicate an assortment recommendation across Blackmores based on the Pharmacy channel strategy to meet shopper needs. Provide priority ranking and distribution target for each channel, monitor results and develop plans to optimise ranging.
  • Lead Planogram recommendations across Pharmacy.
  • Proactively review key customers by channel and detail relevant performance data that pharmacy retailer loyalty, generate insights and communicate it across the business.
  • Lead assortment, placement, promotions recommendations across key Traditional Pharmacy Range Reviews.
  • Create a clear story for Pharmacy Range Reviews and customer planning sessions highlighting current performance and opportunities.
  • Embed the Category Drivers within the Pharmacy channel.
  • Develop and assist with rollout of Category Initiatives linking to the Category Drivers.
  • Develop reporting to monitor category initiative trials and rollout outcomes in Pharmacy.
  • Assist Category Development Lead with category selling stories for NPD launches and in developing trade presenter content, distribution targets, and sales tools for NPD and various category initiatives.
  • Own Post NPD launch reviews in conjunction with the Marketing team.
  • Analyse sales uplifts and ROI generated from different activations, initiatives, and POS activity.
  • Review and revise promotional guidelines across Pharmacy and manage and review performance & ROI for sales incentives.

Who are you?

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, commerce, international business or a related discipline.
  • Prior category development work or work experience as a junior category management role, category development, category planner or data analyst from a market research agencies or data agencies that support FMCG clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced with multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously, results driven and collaborative environment.
  • Able to display good commercial acumen and possess an analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Understanding and strong interest in natural health solutions.
  • Desired skills in analysing retailer loyalty data, space planning experience (Blue Yonder), syndicated and primary research (shopper intelligence) and strong use of Microsoft Excel and PowerBI for analysis.
