Virgin Australia Group Procurement:
At Virgin Australia, Group Procurement provides a centre-led, customer focused service to our business, supporting the sourcing of our most strategic goods and services. Within this team, our Procurement Governance team drives Group wide procurement strategy, governance, enablement and capability, as well as delivering on identified projects and functional improvement opportunities. This role will report to the Head of Procurement Operations & Governance and will deliver outcomes through close relationships with the Strategic Procurement and Procurement Operations teams, as well as working cross-functionally with a large range of business areas.
What you’ll be doing:
- We are looking for a passionate individual with substantial procurement experience, who has worked successfully in mature procurement environments and has significant experience in transformative roles. The successful candidate will have well developed knowledge in procurement process management and associated technology systems, combined with previous experience in leading and delivering procurement improvement projects.
- This role will have a number of key transformational focus areas including to:
- Support maturing procurement’s technology landscape and transformation efforts across both strategic procurement as well as procurement operations including purchasing;
- Support advancing the maturity and capability of the broader procurement community when self-servicing on procurement initiatives through improving quality and access to tools and systems as well as leading awareness and change management for various procurement initiatives such as introducing contract management frameworks and spend management programs;
- Develop and maintain procurement governance materials including policies, procedures, tools and templates.
- Engage procurement leadership in the planning and execution of procurement training and knowledge-sharing initiatives, including liaising with and managing relationships with key external bodies and coordinating Powering Procurement (internal procurement training) sessions
- Supporting special procurement projects from time to time all focussed on procurement advancement.
You’ll be great in this role if you:
- 7+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing and category management environment, including at least 1 year in a strategy/process/frameworks role.
- Have demonstrated expertise to implement and operationalise procurement technology systems and knowledgeable about modern Source to Pay systems (standalone or suites). Ideally experience with Oracle.
- Have strong procurement Source to Pay end-to-end process knowledge for upstream and downstream activities
- Have strong program and project management experience as well as demonstrable business advisory / process improvement experience including previously led and/ or supported change and communication activities.
- Are a natural leader with demonstrable ability in running cross functional projects/teams, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment and managing change
- Have strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills, with a clear understanding of the drivers affecting the business, enabling assertive and effective guidance to business stakeholders.
- Are flexible and creative – able to demonstrate the ability to adopt new methods and process in order to deliver outcomes and meet the internal customer need, consistently challenge existing paradigms.
- Have a tertiary qualification with a business/commerce focus.
- Have professional qualifications within the procurement & supply chain management discipline.
