Job Description & Summary

About the Role

Our Risk and Controls Assurance team is expanding and we’re looking for a Manager to join our vast community of solvers. You’ll help Australian businesses create value and improve the way they work. From automation and digitisation, to providing confidence over emerging technology, together we build trust in society and solve important problems.

Our team provides advice and assurance in relation to client activities spanning control readiness, control remediation, and reporting on the robustness of controls to Board Audit Committees and external stakeholders including customers and regulators.

As specialists on risk and controls within the wealth management industry, we are increasingly called upon to support our clients to manage the risk in change associated with mergers and acquisitions, service provider transitions and data migration system implementations and other transformational change.

You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:

  • Financial services, technology risk and controls environments, IT general controls, testing of automated IT dependent controls across the wealth management ecosystem

  • Internal audit, advisory, and/or third party assurance engagements

  • Sound understanding of the wealth management value chain, including service providers to the industry such as custodians, investment administrators, superannuation administrators and registry/transfer agency providers and their customers (superannuation/pension funds and asset managers).

  • Understanding the needs for trust and transparency between the participants in the wealth management industry, and the associated regulatory obligations of APRA-regulated entities. You are familiar with the requirements of CPS 234 - Information Security and CPS 230 - Operational Risk Management.

  • Understanding of Australian control reporting standards such as GS007, ASAE 3402, ASAE 3150 or their international equivalents (ISAE 3402, SOC 1, etc) as well as technical skills in controls, risk and governance.

In our RCA team, your impact will be seen by:

  • Reviewing the design and operation of end-to-end business processes, systems, procedures and controls to meet financial and regulatory reporting requirements and customer contractual obligations

  • Analysis, documentation and testing of risk management frameworks, internal controls and control environments

  • Anticipating and identifying current and emerging risks and raising issues with line management

  • Development of meaningful relationships with all your stakeholders - clients and colleagues alike

  • Managing large project engagements end-to-end, from planning and budgeting through to final reporting

  • Reporting to management on the efficiency and effectiveness of their framework for risk management and control and contribution to the presentation of observations to the Audit Committee or Board of Directors

  • Supporting Partners with special project work around new and emerging areas of risk and corresponding controls comfort
