Just imagine a future with us...

Aurecon is a design, engineering and advisory company, but not as you know it!

Drawing on our deep pool of technical and advisory expertise, we co-create innovative solutions with our clients to some of the world's most complex challenges. And through a range of unique creative processes and skills, we work to re-imagine, shape and design a better future.

What will you do?

Aurecon’s Melbourne Environment and Planning team have a strong capability from project planning and feasibility to construction on a wide range of projects across both Victoria and Australia. You will play an integral part in a team that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across the built environment, transport, land and water, energy and government sectors.

You will be required to undertake a mix of field based and desk-based work, with the requirement to travel and work in regional areas on occasion. The candidate will be involved in ecological work for a range of projects, particularly in the renewable energy, transport and Defence sectors. Here are the key things you will do:

  • Undertaking ecological field survey, including assessment of native vegetation, flora and fauna, largely in Victoria, but also occasionally on interstate projects.
  • Undertaking targeted threatened species surveys, including nocturnal surveys where required.
  • Preparation of Ecological Assessment Reports.
  • Providing internal ecological advice (i.e. to Project Managers, and broader parts of the Environment & Planning team) to provide details of findings from ecological assessment, and to outline potential implications for projects.

What can you bring to the team?

You’ll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future.

The ideal candidate would have experience in botanical and/or zoological field survey, have strong report writing skills, be well organised, and be capable of working independently and within a team. To be successful, you will have:

  • At least 2-3 years' experience in ecological consulting in Victoria.
  • Current VQA accreditation and working knowledge of Commonwealth and Victorian legislation and policy.
  • Tertiary qualifications in botany, ecology, environmental science or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A current Victorian driver's licence
  • Ecological technical skills, preferably botanical and/or bird identification skills.

How will your future be shaped by us?

Joining Aurecon means you’ll be at the award-winning edge of innovation and sustainability.
