Introducing Western Plains Correctional Centre (Western Plains)
Western Plains is a new state-of-the-art, maximum-security correctional facility in the Barwon South West region. The staff here are dedicated to helping people in our care build the skills and self-confidence needed to make positive contributions to the community.

What you will do
As a disability support worker at Western Plains, you will help the people in your care get the everyday assistance and guidance they need . You will work closely with staff, external services and disability programs – like the NDIS – to improve outcomes for people in custody.
You will:
- Put support plans into action and ensure they are working well.
- Help people in custody access disability services, both in prison and in the community.
- Collaborate with case managers, clinical staff and custodial teams to coordinate care.
- Assist with NDIS applications , appeals and planning meetings.
- Keep accurate records and contribute to staff training on disability support.
Past experience
- A current Victorian driver's licence is required.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in the field of allied health is highly desirable.
- Experience within the disability sector is desirable.
