About the RoleThe primary purpose of the Peninsula Events Officer is to support the development, delivery, and evaluation of Shire’s program of internal, community and commercial festivals and events.
The Peninsula Events Officer provides advice and assists Council departments and community with planning and delivery of a diverse range of festivals and events, from small to large scale. The role will provide targeted advice, information and assistance to individuals, community groups and organisations that are planning events on the Peninsula to ensure capacity building and sustainability for the industry in line with community needs.
Reporting to the Team Leader - Peninsula Events the core responsibilities include:Event and festival production, delivery, and internal organisational support.Support the attraction of destination events.Stakeholder and community engagement and relationship development.Specialised event compliance and risk management.Budget and project management.Team contribution, professionalism, and positive culture.
About You Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.Demonstrated experience in successfully engaging and working with a wide range of stakeholders, community groups and organisations.Proven expertise in festival production, managing logistics, regulations, occupational health and safety, and risk management.Strong inter-personal skills, contributing to positive workplace relationships and a vibrant team culture.Proven experience working within a local government setting.
