About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has a great opportunity for a Senior Branch Officer in the Conservation Programs Branch to manage the coordination and delivery of a diverse portfolio of programs, administration, and other support services to the Director including issues management, strategic and business planning, and development and implementation of high profile projects.
The Conservation Programs Branch designs and tracks the delivery of critical park management programs and strategies, such as the largest feral animal control program in NPWS history and cutting-edge work to embed ecological and cultural risk modelling into fire and land management planning and evaluation. The Branch also regulates wildlife rehabilitation and management in NSW and provides advice on climate change mitigation and adaptation solutions as well as wetland and coastal restoration. This work is delivered by the Units and coordinated by the Branch Support Team which is led by this position. Our branch sits within the Conservation and Aboriginal Partnerships Division of National Parks and Wildlife Service, alongside Biodiversity and Ecological Health Branch, and Aboriginal Partnerships, Planning and Heritage Branch.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has the ability and desire to work with the Branch’s support team to ensure sound human resources, financial and office management and administrative processes, to support the Director and operations of the Branch.
About you
A passion for strategic and business planning with a strong attention to detail and experience in project management & administration will be key to your success in this role. Ideally you will have:
- Demonstrated extensive experience in a similar role and operating environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of best practice project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the delivery of diverse business services including administrative support, office systems, records management, office accommodation, procurement, concessions and leasing, information technology, and reporting.
- A current C class driving license is required & willingness to travel
