About The Role
This is not just another Occupational Therapy (OT) position, it's an opportunity to introduce a weekend OT Service, enhancing patient flow and continuity of care. As a weekend OT, you'll work autonomously while being seamlessly integrated into our supportive inpatient OT team. With flexible hours on Saturday and Sunday, you'll have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our patients while shaping the future of healthcare delivery.
Set up and lead the weekend OT service, collaborating closely with weekday OTs and other allied health professionals.Utilise your clinical expertise to prioritise patient needs in a fast-paced hospital environment, ensuring timely and appropriate discharges.Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide interventions to optimise functional outcomes for patients across a diverse range of medical conditions.Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the wider healthcare team to facilitate seamless transitions of care.

Where You'll Be Working
The Maitland Hospital is a health facility for the Upper and Lower Hunter Regions. The urban/rural population serviced is approximately 72,000 and incorporates Maitland, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Singleton, Muswellbrook, Dungog and Raymond Terrace. The hospital is located 35 minutes from the John Hunter Children's Hospital and transport by air or road is facilitated by NSW Ambulance Services.

Additional Information
To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
