The position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and participate in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. You will also provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to junior technicians while contributing to innovative projects within the renewable energy sector.

Accountabilities

Perform routine and advanced maintenance and inspections on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical/technical issues efficiently.
• Repair and replace faulty components to ensure system reliability and optimal performance.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for maintenance and training.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Assist in the installation of new electrical systems and equipment.
• Provide leadership, technical support, and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely resolutions.

Skills

• Extensive experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software and basic computer skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed.

Experience

  • Extensive experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and installation.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HV/LV systems and communication networks is desirable;

Qualifications

  • Valid NSW electrical supervisors or contractor’s license
  • HV electrical qualification desirable.
  • Valid Drivers licence
  • LVR/CPR current certificate
  • First Aid current certificate
  • Working at Heights desirable
  • High Risk Work Licences (boom lift, forklift, dogging, rigging, telehandler etc.)
Reporting to – Site Manager Location – Wyalong NSW, with support of other projects across Wagga Wagga, Junee, Corowa. Hours – 40hr plus on call requirement and overtime
