At SGS , the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company, we’re searching for a dynamic, results-driven Operations Manager to manage and elevate our Orange and West Wyalong locations.

Responsibilities include however, not limited to:
- Lead & Innovate: Oversee daily operations across both Orange & West Wyalong, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe workflows.
- Champion Safety: Drive a safety-first culture by reviewing and enhancing safe work practices, reducing LTIs, and ensuring full compliance with health & safety legislation.
- Client Relations Rockstar: Be the face of SGS—maintain, nurture, and grow key client relationships.
- Boost Business Performance: Achieve and exceed revenue targets, budget LC goals, and deliver accurate forecasts across profit centres.
- Develop Teams: Empower, coach, and grow your team through continuous improvement initiatives, SMART goal setting, and feedback.
- Drive Process Excellence: Streamline laboratory and preparation operations to optimise costs, turnaround times, and quality.
- Maintain Compliance: Ensure NATA, ISO accreditation, and SGS systems (G6, QHSE, HR policies) are implemented and maintained.
- Business Growth: Guide the development and diversification of SGS Minerals’ services, attracting new clients and enhancing service offerings.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Formal qualifications at graduate level in Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Or: Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing multi-site laboratory operations, with proven leadership of laboratory teams and/or management teams.
- Strong experience managing multiple and remote sites , ideally within geochemistry or mineral testing environments.
- In-depth functional knowledge of geochemistry processes and laboratory procedures .
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and manage diverse teams.
- Excellent financial acumen, budgeting, and cost control skills.
- Strong client relationship management and problem-solving capabilities.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
